Yukiko Horiguchi

Yukiko Horiguchi(堀口　悠紀子) was born in 28/1/1983. She started at Kyoto Animation, but now she is a freelancer.

She joined Kyoto Animation shortly after finishing university, in 2003. Her first work was as an in-betweener in Crayon Shin-chan.

Her animation is delicate and soft, something that showed up in her character designs as well. She is famous for her designs, having delivered adorable and beautiful designs in Lucky Star and K-ON! at a young age. Her designs were not only beautiful and cute, but also not hard to animate, especially in K-ON!. This made her highly regarded among the industry. Her designs were also influential for quite some animators and illustrators too. Even in the studio itself, her designs were the most prominent style.

She loves drawing children and childhood scenes, like in Clannad After Story #3 or in K-ON!.

The illustrator BUNBUN is her younger brother, they even do doujinshi together.

She left the studio, most likely in 2014, to focus more on illustration work.

Nicknamed "HoriHori" by fans.
